+ IDENTITY > WHO WE ARE, WHAT WE DO
Pavelka Academy is a performance coaching organization focused mainly on hockey players. We work across off-season, in-season, and return to play, where the demands on the athlete are constantly changing. Training shouldn’t be fixed — it should adapt to your day-to-day life. Our approach is built around the athlete, not a template.
Every program adjusts based on what actually matters: schedule, ice-time, recovery, and real-life load.
This means ongoing communication, continuous adjustments, and an individual approach instead of predefined plans. It’s not just programming, but a system designed to help athletes handle the demands of the season and keep progressing through it.
Experience working with athletes across Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and Canada.
„This is my baby project, built from my inner child’s passion for hockey in all its forms, including ice hockey, ball hockey, and more. As a former player, I aim to be the kind of coach I wish I had when I was coming up as a player, someone you can count on.“ — ADAM PAVELKA
+ HOW IT WORKS
The structure always adapts to the season (in-season / off-season), your schedule, and performance goals — not the other way around.
1. Consultation + Assessment
We start with a conversation to understand the player — their schedule, demands, goals, and current situation. This can also be done online.
This is followed by an in-person assessment to identify strengths, limitations, and key areas for development.
2. Training Process
Based on the assessment, we set up a system that fits your reality.
The process then continues in one of tree ways:
Ongoing sessions, focused on athlete’s needs and real performance transfer.
Available only after completing the initial steps (consultation + assessment) and at least one 1-on-1 session. This ensures a proper understanding of movement, standards, and training intent before transitioning to remote coaching.
A combination of both — attending in-person sessions multiple times per week/month based on availability, with the rest of the training managed online.
+ WHAT PEOPLE SAY
I’ve been working with Adam for three seasons now, and during that time I’ve made significant progress, especially in my conditioning and strength. The training sessions have a clear system behind them, they make sense, and I always know why I’m doing what I’m doing.
They’re definitely demanding, but that’s exactly what keeps pushing me forward. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the collaboration and would definitely recommend it to anyone who takes their sport seriously.
I’ve been working with Pavelka Academy for quite some time now, and their professional approach combined with extensive knowledge has significantly helped me in the development and training process of young hockey players. Adam analyzed each player in detail and created individualized plans tailored to their needs. The players were very satisfied with the program, enjoyed the training sessions, while also making clear progress both physically and performance-wise.
He also helped me in my own athletic journey. Together, we adjusted both nutrition and the training process to ensure the best possible preparation for the season. After just two months, I could already notice significant progress, and I entered the hockey season very well prepared in terms of both strength and conditioning.
I also have experience with both 1-on-1 sessions and online coaching.
I’m very satisfied with the collaboration. The program is tailored to fit my schedule and support long-term progress. The biggest difference I see is that it focuses on improving my weaknesses without compromising my strengths. During the season, we managed to resolve hip flexor pain that had been bothering me for several years. They also prepared me for the ball hockey season, where I had always struggled with shin pain that would usually begin almost immediately after the hockey season ended.
During the in-season period, we maintain the qualities important for my performance and health, while in the off-season we focus on optimizing and further developing them.
At the moment, we mostly work through online coaching, since my ball hockey season continues after the hockey season ends. I also have experience with both 1-on-1 sessions and online coaching.
